"Every adventure begins with the first step"

The Big Step Out

We’re inviting the nation to walk with us to highlight the lives of the UK's 'invisible' unpaid carers and those they care for.

Friends, carers, school children, supporters and well behaved dogs, join us at Bewl Water for 1, 3, 6 or 12 miles, or walk closer to home on your own path, and help us raise as much as possible to ensure carers, and those they care for, can keep 'Stepping Out'.

Bernard, our Stepping Out mascot dog, will be with us at Bewl Water, saying 'woof' to everyone participating - Come and say hello!

"Every adventure begins with the first step"

Kent is Pioneering the first ever The Big Step Out, a national campaign to highlight the lives of unpaid carers and those they care for.

Join us at The Walking Festival in Bewl Water, or step out wherever you are in the UK, and together we'll demonstrate our support of the country's 13.2 million unpaid carers.

These carers, and the people they care for are 7 times more likely to be lonley that the genral population*. Often caring for a relative or frined at home can be so isolating and many in this position simply feel forgotten by wider society.

Please help us raise as much as possible so we can continue to provide this incredible group of people with the support and respite they deserve.
